I fancy a blackberry
As my contract can be renewed from Dec on, im looking around...
Iphone is not an option, so we can take that out of the equation...
Strange thing is, i fancy a blackberry
I was playing with my old treo 600, last week, and i realise how much i miss a dedicated keyboard ..
Ive seen the torch 9810, and had a quick play with a couple of units at work.
I know i'll have to bite the bullit with screen size being smaller than my Galaxy s, and no flash within the browser, (and that hurts )
do any of the blackberry users on here, know if you can media stream to the phone from your pc?
I watch movies on my G unit streamed from my pc... it would be a shame to loose this function...
Also what are blackberrys like in general, good all rounder, or master of nothing?

I've got a Blackberry curve from work and TBH I preferred my old Nokia and my iPhone by a mile. Never tried the streaming thing, but in general I find it awkward and difficult to use, not especially intuative

Personally I'd go for a Galaxy S2. My missus' S2 makes my 9700 look like something from the dark ages. One thing thats really crap about the S2 which is fantastic about the 9700 is battery life. I never need worry about not having charge unlike her S2 which is almost dead by 7pm.
In summary the blackberry is a fantastic phone but a very boring tool.
Don't know about the streaming.

Got a 9810 - moved over from iphone.
Bear in mind that the 9810, 9860 and 9900 are all on OS7 - a big upgrade imho from the old OS6.
As a communication tool, it's brilliant.
My ONLY gripe so far, is the keyboard is a bit compact (and I have the fingers of a 3 yr old!)
Apps? rubbish - but they aren't my thing anyway.
As a phone though, it's very good. Mightily impressive (and the sync/update with Mac especially is excellent)
When I upgrade again, both Apple & Android will have a have a serious machine to tempt me back.
You either like Blackberry or you don't though..... very simple.

Bold 9900 would be my choice tbh. I dont use it for watching much more than video clips so cant comment on video media really.
But for everything else, like gigsy said its pretty darn good.
Having used plenty of the older models, even a 9780 feels old in the hand now compared to the 9900. Keyboard slightly bigger than previous, graphics much improved, OS much smoother now, and application integration is getting good. NFC could be fun too.
Battery life not as good as previous handsets, but its capability is much improved.
IF.... I say IF the 9900 and other OS7 handsets are BBX (QNX) compatible, we will see the Android market opened up to BB users on handsets. This will happen on Playbooks, but yet to see if OS7 hansets are capable of QNX.
Blackberry fanboy/nerd/lover/user.... out

The current form of the Torch's is WAY lower than that of the 9900 Bolds. Feel, build, etc is all not as good.
Obviously if you are after a larger screen then the Torch is the only way I guess.
I worked out that I am paying £8.47 + VAT a month for my 9900 lol
let me know how the decision goes. The 9810 is a very decent phone indeed. Much improved on the 9800

Oh nooooo !!
As i have small hands, i cant operate bigger phones one handed, so unlocking a phone requires two hands.... with my old treo 600 and joystick etc, i can do everything bar type a text one handed..

If you are new to Blackberry then OS7 is a good starting point. And like I say, if BBX rolls onto current devices, you will love having apps over from Android too.
