So John Terry has been in the news this week for 'racist' abuse.

He called Ferdinand a 'black ****'.

Which he followed up with 'f**king ********'.

What I don't get is that he is happy to admit this; and the FA are happy to accept this and are only upset about the racist slur of being a black **** as opposed to a yellow, pink or white ****.

Taking away the 'black' dimension surely this type of language towards an opposing team player is totally unacceptable?

Seems like some pretty mixed up values to me.

The only conclusion I can come to is that John Terry is an red **** - highly irritating!!

Calling someone a black **** isn't really being racist, its being factual with your expressed opinion.

I agree, not really proof of being racist or prejudice.

If you are arguing with someone then people say anything in order to offend, doesn't mean that he is racist, he's just trying to hurt/enrage.

If I said that at work my P45 would be the next thing the postman delivered and I would never be employable again in my present job........

Maybe I didn't explain my view well - the point I am trying to make is that take away the 'black' dimension what amazes me is that the FA seem happy to have the England captain call someone else a '****' or a f**king ********' and that is acceptable.

I am not arguing 'racist' either way.

OK...I'll ammend my post to say that if I say the "C" word at work in relation to a client or used the other other phrase then I would still be looking unemployment in the face !!

Colleages have been trashed for saying "commando style", which I didn't know what it meant until I read about it !
