Question Any Sky box experts?

I've got a sky+ box out of contract that I use just for freeview programme recording. It has now decided to only have 37% free recording space even though I have deleted everything off of it

How the heck do I get it back to 100%? I can't see a format option anywhere.

Turn off Anytime

If that fails then removed HDD and reformat on a PC

You can't record on a Sky plus box without a subscription, last time i looked into it anyway.

What you should have done, is stored it for a few months to avoid the block Sky send to the box.

Cheers that did it! Wtf is anytime as I have never switched it on so i'm guessing the kids have been pressing all the sodding buttons on the handset again!

Sorry but that is not the case, i've had it years now out of contract and carried on recording fine as they never disabled it - and no they aren't charging me £10 a month. I also paid to not have it connected to the telephone line so guessing that is why they couldn't cancel the recording feature.

Ah right, it has been years and years since I had Sky (or even a TV license) but I did think the disable request (what ever it is called these days) is sent down the dish.

It may be I am just guessing but I was surprised when it carried on after 30 days from cancelling.

Where's the operating system stored then, if you can re-format the whole HDD without killing the box?
