Post Glasgow hotels (decent parking)

Hi all, might have to drive up to Glasgow at the end of the month for a do in Glassford Street, are the there any hotels with decent off street parking (ie. not NCP etc) nearby, hotel search sites are a nightmare for this. Would have got the train or plane but can't belive how dear this travel lark is getting (still looking at (£170) for shell v-power, london return) 2 of us travelling.

http://www.thistle.com/en/hotels/uni...istle_glasgow/

Stayed there twice with good underground/street level parking contained within the hotel building. Also stayed at the Hilton Glasgow a few times but prefer the Thistle parking for room.

Nothing much in it between the 2 as both are great hotels, the Thistle being closer walking distance to Glassford Street [5 mins]

Remember if you don't already have locking wheels nuts for your wheels to get some.

OP said Glasgow not Liverpool or Birmingham car crime is a thing of the past in Glasgow. My car is always parked in Glasgow on most Thursdays and Saturdays £1,500 worth of Work alloys no lockers.

+1 for the Hilton 5 min walk to Glasgow Town centre. Forget Dakota its on the M8 at peak times its nearer 45 mins to Glasgow town centre.

If you choose the Hilton there are loads of great pubs restuarants shops. Glasgow centre is very compact you will love it.

Is 7th heaven not just round the corner from Hilton? could be "handy".

I stayed in the hotel that adjoins the station and had arranged for a hire car to be delivered to the multi storey car park nearby with the keys being left at hotel reception. When I went to pick up the car it was gone, stolen along with 2 others that day according to the car park attendant.
