Without being flippant, I thought it was a joke. I am currently in California near Apple's offices and the people here are all quite upset as most of them had something to do with Apple at some time in their (working) lives.

Jack will be firing through a box of kleenex. First a 5% share loss after the new announcement. Now his leader has passed. The new phone really has caused an uproar.
A loss though...

Well he was suffering with cancer but it's never nice to see someone die from it
He did a good job at apple, some good innovations but having seen recent photo's you knew he wasn't well.

Tragic loss to the tech world - a genuine leader who really understood how to make a difference.
Peace and blessings to all his family, friends and co-workers. It is hard to imagine the loss they must be feeling at Cupertino - he was the company and the company was him.

As soon as he announced he was stepping down and Tim Cook was taking over I thought it would unfortunately, not be too long before he passed on, and the pictures from the (scumbag) press of him showed him looking very frail indeed.
It will be a very sombre day at 1 Infinite Loop tomorrow.
Another person dies from the evil of cancer

I wonder if this could be the start of the apple slide, there latest product was lack lustre and i can now guess this was mainly to do with Steve not being so hands on...shares are going to lose a few percent today.

R.I.P. Steve, sad day. At least he died knowing he had brought his company back from the brink and led it to become the worlds largest technology company.

What ever you may think of apple's products, Jobs brought computing to the masses (along with bill gates), Apple will no doubt continue to innovate. A sad day indeed.

'Apple Boss Dies At The Age Of 56'
Sorry Apple but there's not really much we can do.
You'll just have to get a new one.
That's what you said to me when my iPhone died last week at the tender age of 2.

And what any electronics manufacturer would tell you if your product fails outside of the 1 year warranty surely??
