Being honest I think alot of people are taking the pi$$ out of the NHS with silly stupid operations anyway, I worked with a guy who had maasive ear peircings (I don't know the name for it) when I asked if he might regret it later on he said sure when I get bored with it I'll just get the NHS to operate on them and shoe them back up again, me personally I don't see why the NHS should have to do things like that.

It's ***** like these and little petty things like boob jobs that spoils it for the genuine cases.

gp's only treat minor ailments anyway?

general practitioner - presrcibe anti-biotics, and refer you to a specialist.

so they want money for every customer, i mean patient!

altho im in complete agreement, paying for self inflicted minor issues , would put off all the spongers

just where does the line get drawn? , all alchohol related diseases are self inflicted, drug issues, smoking, lack of excersise, incorrect diets are all self inflicted conditions.

I was at the GP today. It's full of people with coughs and colds. I had a mate once who if he got a cold was straight down the GP to get antibiotics.

I support some private/public hybrid where insurance is based on risk to some degree. If you are fat, smoke etc it is going to cost more.

total agremeent tony

we all pay , well mostly lol taxes and national insurance, so imo are entitled to a certain standard of healthcare which i think is very very important to keep.

but i think to a certain degree it should be personal risk assessed - how it would work ive no idea.

If it is an operation purely for cosmetic reasons then it is fair for the patient to pay for it of course.

Anything for medical reasons should of course be free of charge.
