‘Let’s Talk iPhone’ Event
Just for the Apple haters of SN...
thats impressive reading by anyone standards
Apple’s Mac market share is now 23%, so nearly 1 out of every 4 computers sold in the US is a Mac.
Macbook Air and iMac are #1 notebook and desktop in the U.S.
The Mac has outgrown the PC market by almost 6 times in the past year. Every single quarter for 5 years the Mac has outgrown the PC market. They are now approaching 60 million users (58 million right now)
Apple’s Mac market share is now 23%, so nearly 1 out of every 4 computers sold in the US is a Mac.
The iPhone has 5 percent share of the worldwide mobile phone market. That’s one in 20 people, worldwide. The market is 1.5 billion units annually.
92% of Fortune 500 companies are testing or deploying iPad. This is in less than 18 months, which is unheard of.
Despite everybody and their brother trying to compete with iPad, 3 out 4 tablets in the US are iPads
This morning they passed the quarter of a billion sales mark for iOS devices.

There is one manufacturer making Mac and iPhone, there are hundreds of manufacturers making PC and smart phones.
so by your statistics, 3 out of 4 people buy a PC from the 100s of manufacturers out there, that's not a lot of share to go around for them is it?

To be fair to Apple, it is difficult now to make quantum leaps every 18 months, its only ever goign to be incremental improvements now we have mature and stable versions with no major issues (except flash maybe but that isnt the platform), it makes phone calls, plays music, browses the web, downloads and runs apps and games, it isnt going to do anything radically new anytime soon as its a phone, it is constrained in its functionality by the fact its a small block of metal, glass and plastic with a screen on it.
All we will see now is small changes, they will all have dual cores, then quad, the screen is already a higher resolution than our eyes !
I dont think we will ever see the mobile develop as much as it has in the last five years, might as well just get on and use them and stop worrying about the next one.

Will probably upgrade my 3GS to a 4S and my 3 to a 4...
Camera looks nice on the 4S and Siri looks interesting, but if it's as bloody useless as the voice control on my Lexus then it'll be a lame duck - we'll see.
Looks like the US get an update to the maps app so that it gives directions as well.
