Yeah, there are some very lucrative deals in the wings!!

personally, I think money has freed them - money and the American influence.

Sure she had some old white money behind her, sure it helped.

I feel somewhat ambivalent about the appeal verdict. Undoubtedly the prosecution case was inadequate, but otoh she doesn't come out looking 'innocent' because of the odd things she did and said...and didn't say.

I think it would be quite obsecene for her to exploit this to get lots of money...but that is a personal opinion.

If her and her Parents have a brain they will just quietly get on with their lives. 'Go USA' celebrations would be sicking.

Was talking about this case with a couple of lawyers at the weekend, and we all think the same. She does know the truth of what happened, but there is a fairly good chance she didn't do it.

Then again, Italian courts aint squeaky clean and neither are the police force.

Looks to me like a case of establishing just enough reasonable doubt, rather than conclusively proving their innocence.

Reading some of the background it might be akin to those Scottish trials where a verdict of Not Proven can be given.

Still if she didn't do it 26 years in an Italian gaol would be life destroying.

Get out of the country kid just as soon as you can.

Talk in the news about how the prosecution could appeal against this verdict, but I would imagine that once she's in the States they'll have no chance of getting her back to court in Italy.

As above, i reckon the truth came out in her first account, that she heard the girl being killed. Not by the guy she originally tried to frame (how did she know Lumumba anyway, can't remember), but by the one currently still in jail for the murder, Guerde. Then they panicked and tried to make it look like a break-in. Doubt she'll ever be re-tried though, but the truth will live for her forever now, so if she's complicit, it will haunt her till her dying day, unless she confesses.

But that's all you have to do to be found not guilty in criminal law.

It can happen. look at the Northern Ireland dentist Colin Howell. 20 years after the murders he confesses.

If you think she is guilty, you have most likely have been influenced by the UK media. If you think she is innocent, you most likely have been influenced by the US press.

If you read through the evidence presented by the prosecutors, it was all bollocks, in fact, the defence was all bollocks aswell.

A complete shambles of a legal case.

If she was involved she would most likely be a sociopath.

Sociopaths don't feel guilt.

Why would she most likely be a sociopath?

Bizarre assumption. Unless you know more about this case than has been disclosed.

I said if she WAS involved.

Only a sociopath could get on that stand and cry crocodile tears like that.

I think anybody would do what they could to avoid jail.

IF she was involved, she's had four years to convince herself that she wasn't involved, or at least not responsible. A few tears on judgment day do not a sociopath make, in my opinion.

I'd say that being involved in aggravated murder, lying, showing no remorse, and showing fake sympathy to the family and victim, was very much evidence of sociopathy.

Just what do you think sociopathy is?

Straight back at ya.

What makes you a expert to say she is?
