He never was a great singer, goes to show that sometimes old rockers should just gracefully rock off somewhere.....

Later, a vision identified as Vanessa Amorosi commenced the Australian national anthem amidst an explosion of violently coloured orange hair, looking not unlike she'd just fallen out of a convenient nightclub. This may have frightened someone in the Ten control booth, as they never showed her again. She finished on either a flourish or a scream that sounded like Meat Loaf had just stood on her foot.

oh double dear

Never understood the American, and now obviously Australian, need for muscal entertainment at sports events

Nor indeed the need for the usually awful live singing of the national anthem

I agree about the national anthem *******izing, making it into an r and b song. Especially the Yanks. Has anyone seen the Rush Hour rendition by Chris Tucker? So funny.

Saw him twice, once at Warwick castle on a summers evening outside with the sun just dropping behind the tree line, many thousands there and again we saw him at the NEC the performance wasn't as hard hitting but was pretty good.

The one at Warwick caslte will stay with me for ever as probably the best concert I have ever been too.

I saw Meatloaf in 1983 (or maybe 1984 was a long time ago lol) and he was great. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
