Any iPhone4 gurus here??
Hi. Just upgraded to iPhone 4 from a 3GS. Now when I unlock my phone it doesn't tell me if I have received a text while it's been locked. My 3 did, presumably it's in the options but I can't find it? Can anyone help? Thanks

The only cure is to buy an iPad and Google the answer while observing there should be an App for it

Cannon fodder. Yes tone sounds but if I miss that when I next unlock my phone I have no idea I have had a text. Message preview is on!
DCI tried goggling it! No luck. Don't want an iPad can't see the point! Apart from telling me when I have a text, my phone does everything I need!

Do you get a number in the message 'bubble' telling you that there are unread messages?
Which version of iOS are you using? To be honest I can't remember if the earlier versions were different to 4.51 which is the latest version, but in 4.51 I get repeated message alerts, a preview screen if the screen is locked and the number in the message bubble.

Update is most likely out on Monday anyhow and contains major revisions to the notification system. Apple have reinvented notifications, others will follow in a sheep like fashion.

Surely the only thing they can do is change how you are told, which in itself is not a reinvention it is just a different way to display the same message?
- unless it responds to said message for you in advance saving you the time in actually reading it in the first place...
