vodafone price increases.
I've just had an email from Vodafone stating they are increasing monthly prices, its by no more than 49p per month but surely when I take out a contract the price is fixed for the period?
I could understand if the rise was due to vat but it is not tax related.
Does anyone know if this is.a breach of contract?
I seem to remember another network doing this and as a result a lot of customers got a get out clause?

Pontificating
LOL got the text also
My employers always cover my bill so no skin off my nose but it is a facking liberty, they make you sign up for 24 months and 15 months in you get an increase.
I dont even know where my contract is but surely the whole idea of the contract is to tie you into a term for an agreed price giving you X amount of minutes, texts, data, if you want to leave you have to pay the remainder of the contract.
Even if potential price increases are in the small print what is the point of having a contract if they can do that, it hardly leans towards the customer does it.
Maybe when my next one comes up I'll send them a contract telling them I can leave as long as I give them 2 weeks notice, I'm sure they wouldn't agree

I have just updated my sons contract on my business account to get him a blackberry on a 24 month contract less than 2 weeks ago. I won't be too pleased if they increase the tariff.
Although in the grand scheme of things is 49p really anything to worry about ?
The tariffs are too cheap to start with ;-)

So buying Voda shares were a good plan afterall.
F*ck you Neil, that's libel. Or something. Either way I'll tell the management to hunt your pikey **** down. With my 0.0000001% of the company I have that kind of clout.

After trying to get through to the right department via their switchboard on Tuesday, I'd take the opportunity to go elsewhere. I tried to e mail however the "confirm e mail" box is 1 digit smaller than the "e mail address" box, so that's impossible too. Great ploy to reduce complaints. Just avoid Virgin Media, their phone support is even worse......

Ideal time to ask for something for the price increase. Ring on a Saturday morning and you should usually get someone from this country you can understand, well, someone Welsh. Choose the 'Are you thinking of leaving us' option for retentions.
Pick something like free 100 MMS/month or free 0800, 0845, 0870 numbers, or both, and tell them you'd like them adding to your account free of charge.
Just accepting it without challenging it is a mugs game.

Before you do anything, you need to read the small print of the contract you signed. Of course, you did read it and keep a copy........right?

For Lycra Lenny; As it is a charge it'll be a 14 day notice.

Not so much Lycra lately. Back to being a race winner with an engine!
Even so, 49p. Is it worth the effort. You could probably spend the same amount of time actually making a difference to your bills.

So it is engine power this month? I thought we hadn't had a gay thread for a while, backed up by Lycra Linda.

Engine power until it slams me on the floor again.
In fact I have another 4 stroke. And a helmet cam to record my victories.
About time we had a thread about leg shaving.......

Victories in Junior or Senior don't count though. An ex-schoolboy motocrosser can win with 32 seconds to spare. Expert wins are where it's at.
