Just think, they've been chomping on the grapes along with all sorts of other lovely insects messing around laying egg and crapping on them before they managed to get into a wine bottle.

If they are tiny they are probably fruit flies. There seems to be more of them on mainland europe than in the UK though. In 2000-2001 we had a massive infestation of them here in Germany and they were evrywhere, you could not pour a drink without finding them swimming in it.

We get them flies at work with the backlog of beer and wine waste sat in the warehouse. It's rank especially having to sift through it when doing counts
