Cool feeling smug

i'm into my 4th week of my diet and have lost 6lbs, dipping under 200lbs now.

family history of high blood pressure and diabetes + am now 41 = stop eating like a child!

still a long way to go... and to stick to it too

baby steps

result there!

I have been doing the slim fast shakes diet for around 5-6 weeks now and have lost just over 5kg. from trying to keep to the plan, i have cut out alot of snack eating that didnt help at all.

i started at 84.1 kg, and am 78.8 kg now

its vvv hard trying to stick to it, as i work in a barkery with cakes etc all around me all the time, but fingers crossed im getting there

Please tell me this is due to a healthy balance diet with reduce cals, rather than some fad diet where you will put the weight back on when you stop?

ive stoped snacking on anything to hand, that is normally cakes or what ever the mrs puts in the fridge, and replaced it with fruit, air poped popcorn, beef jerky (homemade) and cut down my portion sizes.

it was sometimes knowen polish off a pack of choc hobknobs in a day easy lol

i have had a good look at what i was eating and most of it was snacking ****.

i feel better in my self for it as well

Being 41 means your metabolism is slowing as well, so you need to be doing some light exercise to get the heart pumping - burns more calories as well.

Well done on quitting the snacks. I'd have to work DOWN to eating a pack of hobnobs in a day. In a SITTING is my usual

once my gut has gone, ill stop the slim fast shakes and replace them with a healthy low cal meal, and keep the snacking stoping andkeep up with the fruit

some sport would help, but my alarm goes off at 4am each day and just cant be bothered when i get home lol

i did lose weight and then put it back on. you need a reward programme, otherwise it's just too damn depressing.

this is the 'rest of my life' diet to keep the blood pressure and cholesterol down and, in time, do some exercise too

Without sounding mean, how can you let yourself get like that if it bothers you ?

I start to see any weight increase and I stop eating and double my exercise .. I'm scared to death of getting fat .. with my chest pains Ive had to stop going the gym and climbing, so have started cycling, losing weight I didnt have to lose now lol

I'm doing one of those

Lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks through normal increased exercise and cutting out all the cr*p I would normally eat.

Started Dukan 2 weeks ago to give me a big push towards my goal weight and have lost 13 pounds in 13 days

Hoping the weight won't pile on when I finish, but I have found that I quite enjoy the regular exercise and like most of the food I'm eating so ideally I'll keep most of it off

before i got with the mrs i use to be a 30-32 inch waist, and over the years it has slowly got bigger.

i think i have got to the point where i think it is about time to do something about it. i would say i was i 36/38 inch waist. all most like a beer gut even though i dont drink, but the rest of me was in portion to my hight.
