On Holiday Group ?

First thing I notice from their website
Flights, accommodation and transfers bought through this website are not sold as a package holiday, and therefore do not qualify for ATOL protection
So I'd personally look elsewhere if not ATOL protected.

I write software for the tour operator industry, On Holiday should be fine bud.
(our other customers are thomas cook, TUI, KUONI, British AIrways Holidays, YouTravel, RCI-HCG and loads more.
I think they've been around a long time, just never exposed as much as they are right now. You should be ok if you're booking a holiday with em.

NEVER BOOK WITH ON HOLIDAY GROUP!!!
Wife booked online 2 days ago.
I said to cancel as preferred to go with ATOL protected company and we got this mail from them:
Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your email.
Please see below cancellation if you were to cancel your booking at this stage:
Cancellation fee - £50 (£25 per person)
Hotel charge - £40
Non refundable Flights and Luggage - £372.16
Non refundable card fee - £35
Supplier Failure - £10
Total cancellation fee of £507.16
Therefore you would receive a refund of £797.20
Please advise if you would like to go ahead with the cancellation as soon as possible by return email.
All cancellations are subject to change and availability at any time.
Kind regards,
Kayleigh

I replied thus:
Dear Holiday Group,
These charges are outrageous. Under distance selling regulations we have a cooling off period and a right to cancel within 7 working days without paying anything.

I expect you to cancel all charges – We will be contacting our card provider to advise them of this situation.
Kind Regards

Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) doesn't apply to flights, hotels or holidays - and hence they can charge you whatever they want and there is virtually nothing that you can do about it.
Hence your 7 day cooling off period doesn't apply, and you're stuck with paying whatever they want you to - or simply continuing with the booking.

RESULT:
Called Easyjet - Explained it was a duplicate booking they refunded Sunshine Holidays (we get the £ back next week)
Called Hotel - they said no charge as duplicate booking (On Holiday to refund)
Card Charges etc dropped (On Holiday to refund)
Both Canx Charges refunded (On Holiday to refund)
One admin Charge £25 (On Holiday to receive)
So:
The upside is:£507 charge reduced to £25
The downside is: naff all work done for 3 hours
