I know this has been posted in various threads but this fellla for me, speaks gospel .. which is ironic as he's an atheist ..
Anyway, the riot video really hits home and watching his other bits, I'm impressed ..

I agree 100% with what he says about the riots and the causes and how the polices hands are tied. I do not know enough about him or his other beliefs.

He speaks sense.

Some may (will) be offended by him and possibly not everything he says sits comfortably with honest folk.

But something needs to be done and soon.

Been a fan of this guy for a while - his stuff on religion is spot on also. Also kudos to him as he used to be a socialist but realised what a pile of crock that was

He needs to watch his blood pressure.

(Agree with a lot of what he was saying)

Does make a lot of sense on many occassions especially this one however i feel he is a little millitant in his approach to certain topics plus when someone (like Pat comes across) is always angry his credibility starts shrinking. All IMHO.

Indeed, brilliant piece and I have been thinking along the same lines, if anything the likes of Phillip Green are worse than the looters as it is more premeditated and cynical than robbing a pair of trainers, plus he has everything he could ever need, same for Branson and James Dyson for moving his factory abroad.

Imagine what this country could be like if everybody who could work, did and paid appropriate tax ? and behaved within reasonable bounds, if we only needed to support those unable to work through illness, disability or old age. The selfishness is in all parts of society as they say, perhaps we have all been like that, perhaps Thatcher started it, I dont know but its not hard, I bet if everybody actually worked and contributed we could drop down to a 4 day week.

Sadly i think that's the assumption and it is clear it just doesn't work like that. Can't stand Green. As you say, he has more money than he could ever spend but still wants more.

Tom Farmer is about the best we have. He's given millions away and by comparison, isn't even that rich. Be great if all these people had the attitude of Warren Buffett.

That's the problem though. Not being hard lined enough is what caused the riots. No deterrent, no fear of prosecution, no fear of losing a job, no fear of what other people think.

Well there needs to be some fear installed into the the so called 'minds' of these people.
You can blame it whatever and whoever you like, but until we actually start dealing with it head on, our society will continue to deteriorate.

These kids are same ones shown on 'The World's Strictist Parents'. The kids on there are absolutely vile. They smoke, use drugs, hit their parents, are school and work shy, demend respect but don't give any and generally want to destroy everything around them unless they get their own way. But after a week of being told how the world 'really' works, some do seem to better themselves and realise the benifits of doing so.

Boot camp, national service, the threat of physical punishment, anything to make those ruining our country realise that there is a different way of living.

This is one of the most idiotic, stupid comments I have seen a supposedly intelligent poster make on these boards. You are clearly economically ignorant. Dyson is a successful company BECAUSE manufacturing was moved abroad. His products are CHEAPER because they moved abroad. He employs more people BECAUSE he moved abroad. Branson and other companies such as HSBC, Charter, Regus et al moved their affairs abroad BECAUSE of the oppressive high cost of UK taxation. The problem is the Government, not the companies who respond to their incentives. Lower company taxes, make it competitive compared to abroad and companies (bringing the revenue and jobs) will located here. The opposite is of course true as well.

This "moral" obligation (to pay huge amount of taxes) you idealistically place on them is utter hogwash and shows your lack of a reality check. You should direct your anger to the Government who waste the productive output of successful people like Green and Branson

Well that would require a complete overhaul of the welfare state, probably involving a limit on the amount of benefit that can be paid, do you support that?

in simple terms the only reason tax's are so high in this country . are because so few people pay them . the bigwigs avoid it by accounting and the pondlife avoid it by not working . a classic example follows below
devon county council total budget £178million . take this figure and devide it by anyone over 18 working or not 966000population that works out at £184.00 per year per person council tax not £142.00 per month . now you begin to realise why your council tax is so high because so many people pay sod all . same is said for normal tax £250million tax avoidance by peter green thats the tax bill of 173611.00 normal working people paying £120quid a month tax . now you know why we all pay so much . but then ask yourself the question who allows this to happen ,polititions and i wonder how many of them have shares in companies like peter greens . wot about the company charging the nhs £26quid for a loaf of bread ? i wonder how many polititions have shares in that company . THIS COUNTRY IS ROTTEN TO THE CORE and cam\eron and his chums need to look at themselves before pointing the blame after all we are all the children of the uk and follow by example , rant over

Yeah right on comrade! Up the workers!

So Dyson never made any money before he moved his operation abroad and sacked 600 people ? one of which is a friends father who hasn't had a job since as its difficult finding a job when you are sacked at 60. Dysons arent cheap, but I would pay a bit extra if its made in the UK, but, to be honest last time I bought a German one due to the number I see on the tip when I go, they arent really very good.

Im not angry, I just think that spiriting a Billion quid away to avoid tax, frankly, stinks and perhaps once you are that wealthy you should question your motives. You earn it here using a British workforce and money spent by British consumers then, sorry but you should pay back into the system like all your workers do.

So, people get away with paying taxes at the top end and people get money for doing nothing at the bottom, someone has to pay for it, mugs like me, for the complex work I do, the hours I do and the stress it causes I get paid fairly well but see none of it due to prices, tax or whatever, I cant earn any more and cant really cut back, I cant "optimise" my tax bill or avoid it all together like some, I dont do bad but feel like for the effort I put in I should be a bit more comfortable.

I am no socialist by any stretch but I get annoyed by tax avoidance, whether it be billionaires or builders, and for the record Maggie at least shook things up because it wasn't working with the unions in charge, I think Cameron is doing a decent job, I get pissed of when everyone slags the PM, every blooody time we get one, he is one bloke, there are 60 million people in this country,,,,
