Wink Redirecting landline calls to a mobile?

I mostly use a landline but this is not working - fault at exchange - so I wonder if I can re-direct calls to my Vodafone mobile. If I call the landline there is a ringing tone but silence at the phone which is completely dead. I am told it will take up to 3 days to fix so is it possible to re-direct and, if so, how the devil do I do this (and cancel when phone fixed)?

Thanks, David

Oh and broadband on same landline number works slowly so I don't know what is going on

I think it is usually a service you pay for but I may be wrong.

It's normally *21* and then you usually get a prompt - either than or *21[hash] - sorry can't find the right key on my mac keyboard

IMPORTANT NOTE: You'll pay for the diverted leg of the call so beware!!

If it's an exchange fault, isn't it something BT would do?

If it is a BT line then call BT to do an exchange forward, however if the exchange is borked then the forward will probably not work..

OK guys, thanks but anyone got a number for BT to use from a mobile bearing in mind "150" is the landline number, which I can't access, only?

The ringing is on the exchange card, hence why you can hear it you have an oscillator in your main junction box coming into your house (hence you have a master and slave box), which is why you get the ringing (without it you won't get the ringing), so the fault seems beyond the exchange, and they can line test that anyway to prove where the fault is.
BT should be able to redirect all calls to an alternate number for you until the fault is fixed

I was on the case first thing

For any one's future reference 0330 1234 151 from a mobile connects through to BT phone fault help at local call charge rates.

I ignored automated options and by hitting 0 a few times got through to a human.

They said they would redirect calls to my mobile at their cost but didn't know if this would work given fault on land line. Will have to try it later. BT gal had no idea of why broadband seemed to work on duff line.

# 21 # will cancel re-direct when things back to normal.
