The Bluetones
Does anybody still listen to The Bluetones?
They are without doubt my favorite band of all time. I find myself listening to pretty much nothing else. I have a couple of hobbies that involve tinkering and require calm easy listening (Foofighters are awesome IMO but not for calm concentration from me)
It's sad they never really seemed to develop the following they really deserved. Their songs have a story to tell and have a depth to them that others 90s britpop bands never really had.
Sadly they are splitting up and are on their farewell tour. We are going to the Cardiff gig in September and really looking forward to it. I've never actually been to a proper "gig" before (90s drug fueled raves don't count )

Expecting To Fly is the only album I've got, not sure why really as it's got some great songs on it (including Slight Return).
If you want easy listening, try some 70s stuff; Bread, America, Al Stewart, Supertramp, Jackson Brown, Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor etc.
Can't believe you haven't been to a proper gig before, you can't beat the live experience, especially in a good (ie not too big) venue. No doubt you'll love it!

We're seeing them at Manchester Academy in September, if it's still there
I have Expecting To Fly, Return To The Last Chance Saloon and Science & Nature, I still listen to them quite regularly
'If' is one of my favourite songs ever, and MrsD loves 'Sleazy Bed Track'

Luxembourg is a good album of theirs.
I think it goes
Expecting to Fly
Return to the Last Chance Saloon
Science & Nature
Luxembourg
The Bluetones
A New Athens
Luxembourg I would say is one of the better albums, not hugely keen on A New Athens.
A Rough Outline
Lots of singles and B Sides - very amusing version of Bloodbubble with Uni students arguing over the loud music - the one complaining is actually Mat Lucas. Some cool covers too.
Good singles not on Expecting to Fly that are worth a listen.
My Neighbours House
Code Blue
Armageddon (Outta Here) purely because it's amusing.
Nifkin's Bridge
The Simple Things
