It's the future, grasp it. They're probably using Djay for iPad. PC's are **** for DJ's, tablets are fantastic. I was spat on for my CDJ's back in the day, and my backs covered in gob right now, but I'm right again.

Pete tong,judge jule and kutski are the only radio 1 dj's i listen to theses day as the rest are sh*te.but i've seen Pete tong and judge jule dj with vinyl in the past.i thought cd/memory cards mixing was the norm for dj's these days

To be fair i suffer from this problem, every now and again i feel myself drawn to tune in, just to be reminded how ****ing terrible the station is. It also reminds you it is worth the risk of not paying your licence.
I gave up on music radio years ago.

I have listened to radio one since I was 16 and although a few dj's have done my head in they aren't as bad as the constant adverts that are on other stations

The future is software like Ableton Live with midi controllers. You can get controllers for Ableton as an app for the iPad.

DJ software for iPads are pretty basic.

That's not quite true,minority DJ's starting using Ableton,but majority still using CD or Vinyls..

Ableton is nice piece of SW,i like the this SW,but for DJing i would go with CD or Vinyls

About the Ableton and DJing,Ableton is mostly used as "enhancing" mixes(with loops,effects),most DJs using Ableton with Virtual DJ,Traktor etc. just for "enhancing" or live playing acts(M.i.k.e.,Sasha,Deadmau5,Dj Hyper etc.)..

About the iPad and Ableton,Novation Launchpad or Korg Nano series is cheaper option

Anyhow, back to the thread title, I swear I can hear the Radio 1 DJ's using the iPad, the bounce looping and scratching on DJay is distinctive. Better than most of the software based tools I've used but distinctive and you just know they all have iPads. I'll ask.

I try listening to it every once in a while with the hope that I'd find some new talent worth listening to. Sadly I haven't found anything worth listening to in years.

Shall I own up and say that I really enjoy Chris Moyles, he keeps my hour long commute sane, and I miss 'The Team' when they're not on - like the next two weeks.

Yes - occasionally he'll have a petty rant about something, but I can forgive him, as 95% of the time he is v amusing.

If/when he leaves Radio 1, I will stop listening, its the only prog I listen too now - too old!
If/when he leaves he will also take A LOT of listeners with him - he does have 7.7million regulars!

Some of the ones I assumed must have been black have turned out to be white which is a sign on the times considering some of the lost souls of Jamica I work with!
