I have an aptitude test and an interview for an apprenticeship. Looking forward but dead nervous as its the first reply back I've had for a new career path in many months!

Good luck, make sure you know something of the company and apprenticeship scheme and be prepared for questions like "what do you hope to gain from the apprenticeship?" and "what do you have to offer the company?" and other unimaginative questions like that
Do your homework about the company as it always impresses when you have some knowledge about them. Bear in mind most interviewers haven't been trained to do it so they are just winging it too.
Have fun and show interest. what apprenticeship path is it and what qualifications will you do? I'm 2 years into my engineering apprenticeship with another year to finish my NVQ3 (even though it's done). Looking forwards to the nice payrises
Just back, my head in fried!!!! Sat a 4 aptitude tests one straight after the other.
Its an apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering. I was one of the oldest people there ffs and one of the very few that actually wasn't wearing a tracksuit and gold chain!

Same here. I was 24 when I applied and had to start 2 months early, a day before my 25th birthday. This was so Tata steel could still get funding for me off the government.
How old are you? Was it a 16-24 apprenticeship you applied for. The one I'm doing doesn't mean I'll be an engineer - more a skilled craftsman in a certain field BUT with the opportunities to study further. Sitting in an office with numbers doesn't excite me, so doubt engineer status is for me
As everyone wishing you luck didn't work then try this... mini skirt and moobs out!
I've came to the conclusion, I'm thick as **** so really you are correct on the whole luck thing! Really thinking of hitting a night course to refresh my english and math.
