Smile Road bike tyre pressure

My front wheel tubular needs 220 psi or about 15.5 bar

How the hell is this possible,my track pump only goes up to 160 and im sweating even then

Is that what it needs or is that the max mate?
I use 25mm Conti clinchers and run them at 100 PSI which is based on my weight.

Bloody hell, back in the day i used to attach my Dad's foot pump to my bike and pump the tyre up until it felt about right. PSI was not involved in this process.

How come you are using Tubulars ?

I go with 100 front and 120 rear.

220psi!!! I had a blow out using 170psi - like a shotgun going off.

Never known those pressures I use 120 PSI and that`s bloody hard.

The recommended is 160 - you don't need to try and get the best out of the tyre

Those pressures sound incredible to me. The tyres must be iron hard.

I'd hate one of those to burst near me!

My mate runs tubs on his time trial bike and has them about 130 I think.
