Ideally thats what you want to happen - cats are very good at remembering bad things.
Another suggestion I have for you is go and invest in a super soaker or whatever they're called nowadays
They're pretty good at getting rid of cats
You'll need to be a pretty good shot though

So it's okay for the local cat population to place potentially deadly toxins into my garden and make my children very ill? But if I do the same it's bad? Especially as my vegetable beds seem to be the preferred spot

********!
(I suppose using the air rifle is more humane though )

It's the blood heron I'm currently fighting.
In my experience few cats are smart enough to work out how to get a free meal without a swimming lesson being involved...
I have a couple of stones loose round the back edge of the pond, "tilt".
dunx
P.S. Had cats in the past, but don't want any more thanks.

If you are doing this (and I suspect not, given the ), I hope the law comes knocking.

Sorry but cats are free spirits and you shouldn't be cruel to them. If you want to deter a cat from doing stuff in your garden then find a friendly way to do it (it'll then go in next doors ;-))
You should put a nice net over the top of the pond as this will work. It took our neighbour one pond of fish to work it out even after I had explained it to him...it's not the cats fault, free meals who wouldnt take it.
