Default Ribcage muscles

Catapulted ( windsurfing ) last August , thought id done a rib or 2 , dont think i could have done but it certainly put me off games for a couple months .

Anyway i think i must have done the same thing ( nothing like as severe ) couple mondays back when we had 35-40 knts , and now the muscles are all aching again.

Should i be trying to stretch these or should i rest them

I'd see a physio if it's bothering you that much.

id suggest bit of light stretching/exercise and rest with lots of high protein food to help repair your muscle mate.

Having done it myself twice I found rest was the best thing.

As for protein and all that chemical ****e dont bother as your body will get enough if you have a good healthy balanced diet. Any more and your body will chuck it out anyway.

Its unlikely that you have torn/strained either your internal intercostals or your external intercostals. Its more likely to be the intercostal nerves. Either way though, rest, rest and more rest. Im no doctor though, so as Jamie says, get down the doctors.

Err yes, thats why I said to just stick to a normal healthy balanced diet as that will give you all the protein you need, therefore no need for supplements.

Were you in a harness when you got spat
Intercostals are the muscles concerned as someone already mentioned along with lats
Stretching helped me when
I windsurfed also bar twists help too

I would suggest doing what you would have been wiser to do in the first place...get your doctor to give you a proper check.

He is paid a lot of money for doing things like that!
