I use an oldish cheap Nokia phone and I have noticed that the charger gets quite warm/hot when on. Not super hot but warm enough to notice.

Is this normal or a warning that I should chuck it and get a new one?

They get warm .. some get red hot. The hotter they get the less efficient they are as they are transferring power to heat, but they still work.

+1... yes, they get warm, because they're built down to a price. Before energy efficiency became so fashionable, nobody cared, so that's just how they were.

Yes they do 6 hrs max any more the old ones take a hissy fit

I had one that exploded once, took out the electrics and left a big burn mark on the wall. Didn't want to chance that again, hence the post.
