Tuxedo/Dinner Jacket - buy or hire?...
Need a tux for a work do in a couple of weeks, and I was going to just hire one, but hire is about £75 just for the jacket, trousers and bow-tie - will still need to buy a shirt. Seems like a lot just to borrow!
Now wondering if I might as well just buy one? It won't get used that often as I can usually get away with wearing a smart suit for these sorts of events, but then using it a couple of times would break even on hire costs!
What do people reckon? Anyone had a similar dilemma?

'Tuxedo' is a stupid American name. HTH
For what it is worth, Id buy, because you can buy presentable evening wear for less than some firms charge to hire it.

Just go to Matalan & buy yourself a tux. Not to expensive & on the plus side if your ruin it or only wear once you dont need to worry as you havent spent a fortune.

I would buy one, I did and they last ages as you hardly ever wear them. In fact, I bought 2 - 1 for when I was slimmer, and 1 when I had put on a few pounds
Soon pay for themselves.
