Change in career
They are offering Voluntary Severance at our place at the moment, and there is a dearth of IT jobs in a reasonable distance of where I live (or at least with the skills I have), so I was wondering about maybe a more practical career.
I would get a fair amount from VS (enough to last two years without working at all), so was pondering something like a plumber, electrician or gas.
Anyone else done this, got any tips, advice, or indeed any good reasons why this wouldn't be the thing to do?
Geezer

Ive recently taken this with Nat Grid but I am lucky enough to be able to get my pension soon. There are lots of jobs out there but to do any of what you mention would need a lot of re-training which I believe is quite costly.
