Smile Power to the people (but not wind power)

Wind farm forced to close after complaints over the noise

A multi-million pound wind farm has been forced to close because it makes too much noise in a landmark ruling that could lead to others being shut down.

**** me so even in the Highlands of Jockland there are enough Jockanese to moan about noise? So if you can't install wind turbines in the middle of nowhere, where can you install them.

Maybe you Brits do not deserve cheap sustainable power, all you seem to do is moan about the price of power then when the company spends millions to get renewable power so could lower the prices you continue to moan. No wonder the country is going to ratsh1t!

Would love to have it but we dont. All UK "sustainable energy" is heavily subsidised to make it viable. No-one would do it without the subsidy. Therefore it is not cheap

Thats because energy inflation is so high, in part due to huge carbon taxation

ROFL, no, they spends millions to harvest the subsidy, prices will not lower, wind generation is MORE expensive than conventional, hence the need for subsidy. Get it?

Yep, with stupid thinking like yours how can we get a decent debate going, and these suicidal policies changed?

I don't need to get a debate going as all my power is nuclear and relatively cheap.

Didn't I see that the Princess of Darkness, aka Angela Merkel, is going to close all the nuclear plants in Germany?

Their load factor (ie the amount of time they produce useful energy) is approx 25%. So when you see the BBC (Biased Brocasting Corp) say turbines producing 400MW are installed, the reality is 100MW because the wind doesnt blow for the rest of the time

Surprisingly, out in the countryside up here there are some of the most resistant people to things like this that you'll find anywhere.

They're a stupid idea anyway, so I say let them keep moaning! The SNP will only stop their blundering idiocy if they're told in no uncertain terms.

In the sea where no-one can see or hear them. When I fly over to Amsterdam I see groups of them off the coast spinning away...

Domestic solar energy is where it should be, not ugly questionable windfarms. Mike from the excellent tv series Windfarm wars will be pleased

Indeed you did! In 2024 apparently so a few years yet

We do have some massive solar farms down in Bayern though and wind farms dotted about so don't think the lights wil go out any time soon.

Well unless this high pressure and sub zero temps completely blot out all the light I still don't think we have to much to worry about bearing in mind solar panels need light to work not necessarily direct sunlight. So unless we have a nuclear winter where it is permenantky dark I am not convinced they will stop working.

Not for long? Soon you'll be burning your lederhosen to keep warm. Quite how much gas will Germany require off their Russian friends after your Nuclear power stations are shut down?

I do not have gas and neither does most of Germany so again not a problem if they cut it off or have to buy it from somewhere else.

Don't have any Lederhosen either

As Germany closes its nuclear power stations, aren't they now importing energy from France, who predominantly use nuclear

Also, before we all see wind farms as the messiah of green energy, let's look a little under the mirky surface of the materials used in their production....

And if solar observations and predictions ring true, we might end up glad of all the warming we can get.....
