Olympics 2012 tickets -"What a joke"!
Apllied on the first day for approx £1,000 of tickets, how many did I get.............................none!!!!!!! I was hoping I would get at least £250's worth or so.
What a load of crap I live within 5 miles of Wembley Stadium & was hoping to take my little one to see a football match or two plus some athletics & tennis at the other venues.
They didn't even send an email saying you have been unsuccessful, I had to phone my credit card company today to see if any money was taken out yesterday or not.
Apparently in Germany you could buy tickets a few weeks ago from official outlets.

Didn't apply myself Considered the mountain biking as my folks are local but it grates that I have to pay to go and watch something that is taking place in a public space that I took our dog for a walk in for years (and rode my bike on occasion).

There was a guy on BBC news having applied for £36K of tickets and having won £11K. I can only assume he is going to flog these on??
I fail to see how going to the Olympics is going to be worth £11K. While I'm at it, I fail to see how the Olympics are nothing but a huge white elephant for a near bankrupt country.

What's confusing me is that the news outlets are saying that the deadline has passed for money being taken out of your bank account BUT the olympic ticket website says that the deadline for taking the money is the 10th June?
Lazy journalism or mistake on the web site?

Pontificating
This could be construed as a great exercise in getting millions of peoples details and moving them on at the right price, but of course that sort of thing doesn't happen does it because it says so in the T&C's

The Olympic shop in Heathrow has a sign outside stating 'Proud to only accept Visa" should that be Stupid to only...
In recognition of Visa's longstanding support of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, The London 2012 Shop is proud to only accept card payments by Visa (credit, debit and prepaid). We also welcome payment by cheque.

I think there is going to be a website for selling on tickets you don't want. This will be an official channel where tickets are re-sold at face value. Am confident there will be lots of people doing this ... so still a chance to get those beech volleyball tickets

Had max total of about £600 and had nothing taken yet but I also had the email saying June 10th was last date payment would be taken so all not lost.
The "visa only" payment option is crap. I was away from the house and only had mastercard credit cards on me (all but 1 are visa) so ended up using my visa debit grrrr.

I thought the money was taken out of your account before you even knew if you even knew if you'd get tickets or not.
Money reimbursed should you not get any tickets.
Knowing this country, priority for tickets would go to foreign countries (as to not be seen a racists) then British people wanting to watch the British Olympics was fight over the scraps that no one else wanted.
Complete shower of Sh!te the whole thing. Won't even be watching it on TV let alone pay stupid money to watch it live.
