Funny shaped exhausts tips.
What do you think? 
Exhaust tips used to be round or oval.
Now we have bizarre triangles and stuff.
Reminds me of those games for toddlers where you put the right shape in the right hole.
Why a triangle? Does it have some special properties? Couldn't afford another side for a square? I know a Civic is a budget car but c'mon!

As said it's purely fashion over function.
You have to admit it does look kinda funky but it's just not practical. Also centre exit exhausts should only be used on rear/mid engined cars imo.

Even more silly are split exhausts on an engine with a single exhaust manifold! i.e a transverse 4 line again....lol the Civic.

I always have a smile at the 'twin' pipe exhausts where one of them is purely cosmetic (just a separate pipe welded onto the single exhaust pipe)
Or the straight out pipes when the actual exhaust is pointing down... so you can't tell it's a diesel....

i like my car, where you can't see an exhaust unless you are lying on the ground at the back of the car - very neat
it does irritate me when you see these fancy 4" exhaust tips and can clearly see the 1.5" exhaust pipe behind it ...and this is on production cars too!

The team won the competition. That's why there's a hint of a beer can at the end of the production model's exhaust pipe.

My brother has a Civic Type R GT and the exhaust tips are not triangular, however the space they sit behind and push gasses through is triangular shaped.
It's actually quite a nice car to drive, although you can't see **** all out of the rear windows!

I can think of at least two fabulous, albeit limited, production cars with genuine diffusers that do not have centre exhaust tips.

You barely have to be going 40mph to make an efficient diffuser be beneficial.
I mean instead of having two separate exits. Ideally you would want to have the channels as big as possible, therefore to get the exhaust out of the rear you'd want it out of the middle.
You have lost me there. A rear mounted flat engine has exhaust ports on both sides - so why have extra piping to bring the exhaust tips to the centre?
I can think of at least two fabulous, albeit limited, production cars with genuine diffusers that do not have centre exhaust tips.
