Bringing a knife from overseas
Hi,
I wanted to bring back some knives from abroad, for display purposes.
Only problem is they are not currently in display boxes..
Is this possible? They will be checked in the luggage and wrapped up.
Any thoughts?

Yes. Anyone with knives on display is liable to get a face full of CS spray when the old bill pop round for a cuppa.

They'll be fine in checked luggage - but best to check the airlines T&C's first.

Whats that all about? you used to be quite sensible, the guy could be a genuine collector.
Iv'e got a friend that is into his knives, some of which are really rediculously expensive works of art and he has them in a secure display cabininet, they dont all go around shankin the first copper they see.
Bad day at the office?

I would have thought that as long as they were well packaged so they could not be used on the spot and you declared them before they were found by the Customs, you should be alright.

They should be fine in checked-in baggage, didn't have any problems with my AR-15 and Glock 21.
