Car hit another car and drove off!
I witnessed a car hit another car.
They drove off rather quickly before I could get to them but I did get their number plate.
I waited as long as I could for the owners of the other car to return but in the end had to go.
I did think about leaving a note but it was very windy.
I have both of their number plates, anyway to track them down?

You should have left a note under the wiper with your contact details. You've missed your opportunity now.

In that case the best thing to do would be to report it to the police and let them deal with it, but you may well be called as a witness if it goes to court - though this probably wont happen

Erm because it is their legal responsibility to inform both vehicles informed that an RTA has been witnessed

Putting it under the wiper would stop it blowing away. I've driven down motorways at 80mph with flyers under my wipers and the damn things still don't dislodge

Sorry for the bloke whose car was damaged though. Can't see how he can get any compensation for what was not his fault now.

Did you get their number plates, or their registrations?

That's why I keep a can of spray paint in the car. "AB 03 CDE did this"

Yeah should have told the Police at least.
But given the millions of CCTV in this country I'd be surprised it's not on film.

I've passed it onto the police, I won't hold my breath.
I also spoke to the garden centre across the road just in case.

That is up to them not us, but what I do know is that I would appreciate someone doing this for me if something did come of it.
