Thumbs down Rubbish Rubbish Collections

Hmmm, We have recently been put onto a new rubbish collection rota.
Landfill /Rubbish one week, Recycling and Garden waste the next.

This week is the turn of Landfill / Rubbish. The bin is practically empty.
Our recycling bin is full however! How the fvck am I supposed to go another week without adding anymore y recycling to that bin?

What do you do?

I'm working minimum 12 hour days at the moment - The tip is closed by the time I finish.

FFS - Do I now have to spend my weekend loading the car up and driving to the tip to then spend god knows how long separating all the stuff out there?

Not happy

We are really lucky in Milton keynes. Green bin for all organic. Blue box for glass Pink sack for any plastic, paper, recycling. black sack for crap you cant recycle. They will collect all every tuesday.

It's nice paying the, not insignificant, council tax, only to have to do all this new fangled 'green' sorting/****ing around yourself, eh?

I think it's all bollox! Didn't have all this **** in the 70s-80s - just a couple of steel dustbins collected, without fail, every Friday between c.7-9am (IIRC); job done.

Why the **** does it have to all be such a ballache...

Even more puzzling when you follow the bin lorry down the road and they are throwing all the different bags into one vehicle and crushing them all together!

Recycling is a illusion! It doesn't actually happen.

Wait for the summer and the maggots.

Of course we don't mind taking a step back towards the dark ages as long as the council bosses keep their six figure salaries and gold plated pensions.

We've had the same waste collection system as the OP for a couple of years. We were having terrible maggot problems and smells from the green bin in summer so I bought a waste disposal unit and now all the food waste goes in there. This means I often leave an empty green bin out during winter (in the summer it gets used for garden waste). I managed to blag a couple of recycling bins of each type so I have two for paper and two for plastics - I usually end up only filling one of each every two weeks but have extra space for peak periods (eg. Xmas).
