Does any one use a detector outside the UK ?

I use the Bel Euro 550 in Greece bought from you guys through the Scoobynet group buy via Beastie. What do you need to know?
I have come across Ku band mini gatsos many times and a Ku band hand held radar gun once, which the detector was going off continuously around 3 kays before I got to it and laser many times so far. There are no fixed gatso cameras yet. They say X band radar guns are used too, but I have not come across any. I believe they are being replaced with laser guns and may have all been replaced by now. When I get warned of laser, the funny thing is that at the end of the alert, Ka band goes off for 3 beeps even though I don't have it turned on. Is this normal?
I used to have all bands on to find out which ones I needed. Now I only use Ku band and offcourse laser. I found by turning the other bands off my Ku band picks up mini gatsos a lot earlier than it did with all bands on.
