Default Hiding speaker cable suggestions

I'm going to be setting up my home cinema equipment at the new place tomorrow. The only problem is, its got a wooden floor and I'm struggling to work out how to cost effectively hide speaker cables running to the rear of the room. Not only do i need it to be cost effective but also easily removable as I only intend to be in the place for 6months/year.

I have been thinking of using some sort of beading along the skirting boards but haven't seen anything nice.

Any suggestions?

Was going to suggest removing skirting boards and running cable behind.

Above is a much better idea

Legend, I currently have been using trunking but i hated the look of it even though i was the only one to notice it, this stuff may do the trick!

They even do an oak coloured version, even better!

I had the same quandry a year back, albeit a carpet atop concrete. Ended up cutting a channel in the concrete and laying the cable into it with a plastic sleeve to allow "access" if need be. The issue I have now is a perceptible electric buzz at low volumes - despite shielded cables. You should see the rats nest behind the TV / AV though! It's horrendous. TV, Xbox, Wii, Slingplayer, HD Player, DVD, CD, SKY +, Archos, Turtle Beach X4 etc - I've not got the energy to fix it - I just turn the volume up

Good luck - I mean that!!!

I'm fortunate to have a cellar, so I run the cables under the floor

Nah, the plan is to convert it into two double bedrooms with a W/C and shower room for the kids in a few years, with a utility and storage too, taking it from a 3 bed (2dbl/1sgl) 1 bath, to a 4 (dbl) bed 3 bath (inc master en-suite). Should up the value a little, and mean the upstairs is just for us with an en-suite, (dbl) guest bed/gym/office/whatever and family bathroom. I also have plans for the attic becoming a roof terrace

Finally got around to sorting mine out.

Before:

After:

Much better I managed to shorten the speaker cables where necessary and lay the cables flat so it's not a fire hazard. Also separated power and speaker cables etc. So I haven't noticed any interference.

That Maplin stuff is chavtastic..Probably made by the same people for people that put a bead around there skirting boards for laminate flooring..
Its a quick and simple solution but will look kack, and looks only thick enough to hide bellwire, and decent audio cable wouldnt be able to fit inside that, never mind 2 runs of it.

Lift off the skirtings, its easy enough and conceal everything behind. Easy and classy solution.

I chased a channel at the bottom of my wall round the room put trunking in the gap then the normal skirting board fits perfectly over the top.

Go wireless. You can pick up a transmitter which you plug into the HC speaker outputs, it then transmits the signals to another box which you plug your speaker cables in to.

Its only temporary (1year max) and it will fit my Audio Inovation Ultra Micro down it with ease. It is only for rears afterall.

I've got my HiFi if i'm concerned about blistering audio performance.

I think i can cut the runs down a bit as i've been up today and seen an alternative route. I'm using Monitor Audio SFX's on the rear, so although i'm not terriblely fussed on it being the pinnacle of audio performance, i'm just not convinced by wireless setups as still need wires regardless.

I'm a bit of a fussy **** at times.

Yea..

I understand what your saying, but some wireless systems work very well.

Could be worth a try before you do anything drastic?
