In Atlanta at the moment, tried to get one yesterday, no chance but had a go and even from an Apple sceptic it is utterly gorgeous, was less convinced by the Ipad, but the new version is much nicer, I think the bulk of the first one put me off, nice to use but I didnt have to have one but this is lovely, much more fluid to use as well.
Going to try at the airport tonight.
Anyone want to buy an Archos tablet ?

Downgrading, hmm, The Archos is alright, does its job but it just isn't as good, bought it as I didnt want somethign as big as the Ipad but the new one seems a lot less bulky than my impressions of the first one. The Archos's screen isnt as good, it isnt as fast and can have some random moments like freezing (seemingly cured by latest firmware) but I have had my Ipod touch for 2 years and its never missed a beat, I hate to admit that the Apple stuff is as good as it is and sound like certain other members on here but their stuff is really rather marvelous and the rest just play catch up.

I don't get ipads at all. I know they look sexy, and I guess they will be nice to use. But what is their purpose?
Its too big to put in your pocket, so you will have to carry it around in a bag. Much like a laptop. Compared to a laptop it just does so little. No USB, no keyboard, no ability to just put it down and then watch something, not unless you prop it up somehow. Then you also have no screen cover, a laptop's lid is very useful!
I'd like to like the ipad, I like the iphone, but I just don't get it. What do people here use their ipads for?

My dad has one and he loves for usability , mainly he'll sit in the living room browsing the web instead of firing up his pc. He also streams films to it.
I'm not fussed in them tbf as I have a MacBook pro , and use my iPhone if
I need to do some light browsing.
The iPad appeals to some and then it don't to others

Yes, but I am in Atlanta at the moment, so can be forgiven for using the US Spelling

Everyone getting one right now is still in the queue in London

Couldn't be @r$£d Maybe I'd queue for life saving cancer treatment, but I even walk out of the Post Office if there are more than 5 people waiting.

I had Vodaphone waste 15 minutes of my life, trying to get me to sign up to a monthly contract for one of those things. Why would I want to do that. If I wanted one, I would buy one
