Slightly?

You see, I went to Turkey about 12 years ago and I though it was a sh!thole
I never felt the urge to go back, so I don't know how much its improved.

Lets say this, if you can't put "used" bog roll down the toilet then I'm not going!

I went skiing there in the late 70's, an armed guard with a machine gun followed us everywhere, dead cool when you're 9, a little more sinister later in life!

Did you take family?

Personally the stories about everywhere being owned and run by the mafia puts me off.

To put that in perspective though, I planned a visit to Chernobyl last year and was more scared of the mafia kidnapping me and selling my *** to a sadistic olligarch than being irridated for the rest of my short half-life

We go a couple of times a year, my wife is Bulgarian so we're there visiting friends and family. We normally stay in Sofia and then to the in-laws in the south of the country.

Food and drink is still very cheap, shopping in Sofia is expensive, in fact most places selling branded products are dearer than at home!

Nesebar on the coast is nice, much quieter than Sunny Beach but still close if you want that sort of holiday. Sozopol is also quite nice too.

Bansko good if you want to snowboard/ski, although prices can be quiet inflated at the top of the resort. Pamporovo also an alternative to Bansko.

No interest in snowboarding etc
I'm just looking for a quiet holiday, it needs to be warm as I want a tan.
Only myself & wife - basically just want to lay by the pool and toast myself
