Hello there
Just wanted to say Hi
I'm thinking of getting a wagon as at the moment I drive a VW Corrado 2L 16v and now my daughter is 6mths old i realise that its not really practical (need a 5 door)
It will brake my heart to sell my Rado but ha ho.
I still can't let go of the girl racer in me so I still need a sporty car. Hubby thinks i'm
I'd rather walk than own a people carrier
So this is my first step to finding me self a Scooby
Regards
Lottie

I don't have a wagon, but I'm either selling or 'off roading' my classic come march. Whichever comes before the next insurance renewal is up.
I'm like you, I can't let go of my fast cars, although I am not a 'girl racer' as driving around with two children doesn't allow you to carry that look off! Lol.
Have you thought about how long you are going to keep it for? The school run might seem a long way off, but i am doing two trips there and back to the school so I can say bye bye to £20 a week just on the school runs, abd it's only a 5-10 min drive!

Same happened to me - we had a Corrado G60, which whilst a wonderful car, was totally impractical as a baby carrier. Wife (at the time) told me to get a 5 dr car with aircon, otherwise spec was down to me, so I got a brand new scooby turbo wagon
You won't regret but learn to get a thick skin from all the sharking on this site

Hi Lottie,
Welcome. Up until recently I had three Scoobs. One of them was a 2003 WRX Blobeye Wagon.
Very nice motor, highly modified and a snip.
I bought this three years ago as Wife was expecting our first child and it was for that purpose. I absolutely love it, really nice motor.
However, its just too small! Don't get me wrong, we can get in it ok, but even going away for the weekend is shocking.
I only take a pair of underpants and a toothbrush, Wife takes a bag for herself, baby has a suitcase! Plus extra baggage and dolls, toys, etc. To be fair to the car, we have one of those Stokke prams, that although very good on the road, really kills the boot space.
Put it this way, we can go away for the weekend ok, but we can't do any shopping while we are there. Even having an estate car isn't enough, for us.
Hopefully you are a lighter traveller than we are.
Legroom is also becoming an issue now. If my daughter needs to sleep we can tilt the seat up, but she is so big now she needs a load of legroom and whoever is in the front seat feels their shins getting a bit squashed! Ok for short journeys of course, but not for any length of time.
Basically, you will need to take your car seat with you and put it in the back of any car you see and go from there.
Good luck!
Asif

Hi, sorry to be picky but that is a UK car so they don't have versions, however if it was Jap then it would be a version 4, I'd also be wary about the mileage although I had a forrester that had done 175k on the oe engine

I went from a Rado to a Scoob, and my running costs plummeted. I had the VW for 13 years through love over common sense, but it was the most unreliable piece of tat in the world. It cost me a fortune to constantly fix all the stuff which incessantly broke, so my three completely trouble-free years of Scoob ownership was sheer bliss. Since then I have owned three other VAG offerings (2 Fabia vRS's and an Octavia) and they are bloody rubbish too The Corrado was/is a lovely looking car, and handled well for its time, but a Scoob is several leagues up on driving performance, especially a well mod'd one. I've vowed never to own another VW product again, but I'd have another Scoob tomorrow if it were the right car for the right time. Until then I'll keep saving for a BMW 335D for her, a Mini Cooper D for me (driving instructor) and an SDR V-Storm (with API Cosworth JDM EJ20 in the back ) for fun (well, I can dream can't I).
