Default Where can I buy some semi-rigid foam?

I'd like to get hold of some of that stuff like they use for pipe insulation, and for packing scientific instruments. It wants to be about 3" thick and in sheets.

For those who are interested, I'm carrying a full-sized spare and want to bring the area round it up to the same level as it's top. Sick of my boot being all uneven.

My lad has already made me a longer screw thingy to hold it down.

Why not just cut some MDF to the size required and have a solid base that way as well?

It would add far too much weight. I need rthree inches or so, it would weigh around 25kg. Also be difficult to remove and fit.

What i refer to is you could cut a complete bot floor shape out of thin ply or mdf and have the same level all across the floor and it wouldn't weigh much at all?

But how would I support it? At the moment, the hardboard wheel cover, whichis nowhere near as wide, sags terribly.

If it over lapped right out to the edge of the boot floor[rear inner arch] it would get support from the boot floor when spanning the wheel well?

Suddenly just realised my mistake hear,i was thinking you had sinking in the middle and its the outside's you want raised lol.
Bubba has a good idea above with kingspan insulation board as it around the thickness your after or go to one of your local building supply firm's as they have panel's between sheets for loading you could cut out piece's to suit.
Other alternative would be to lay 2 by 2 piece's down around 3" apart and use ply to level it out for the carpet to go on to.
