Whal clippers
Got some a couple months ago , with mixed results using them on myself - i guess it takes a while to perfect..
Iv noticed tho that this last time they feel like the business end is tearing at the hairs as much as clipping to remove them
...is there some kind of adjustment im missing or something

No clippers cut well if there is gel in your hair, you get a tugging feel. I had it last time I got a hair cut, was spur of the moment and had not long took a shower with fresh gel on my hair.

possibly a couple of things - do you regularly feed a couple of drops of light oil to the blades??
You can adjust the blades - bring the two blades all the way forward to their shortest setting. Loosen the two screws that release the base plate, use a flat hard surface to ensure the top and bottom blade are accurately aligned, then tighten the screws. Would be worthwhile separating the two blades while you have a screwdriver out and clear out any buildup of clippings before reassembly.
Mine are over 10 years old, and show no sign of being blunt, not sure if these are self sharpening in some way or not. Blunted blades is unlikely to be the cause of your problem.
