Because it would be paying them FAR below the national minimum wage, and hence, illegal.

I've dug mine out three times today, With the ploughs going past moving everything to the side of the road and I'm talking about 2tf of snow where I normally park it I even had to dig a space to park it!

So I've dug it out three times and dug it in once.

So Mr Snow plough man comes along and moves all his **** to the side of the road so I cant get my car in and out, then I come along with my shovel and move it all back.

It's a pain in the *** alright! The west midlands is coming to a stand still, all because the roads didn't get gritted.

Saturday was a nightmare! The Birmingham New Road (A4123) is the worst I have ever seen it! I hate to think what it will be like tomorrow. It's not been above -4 and it's been snowing since about 4ish.

It's a dual carriageway, not that you can tell.

Do you defend your honour against an assailant who approaches on the other carriageway? Like jousting?

If you are up north in the sticks then I expect it to be worse. The pic is simply a pic of that road looking it's worst, it's bloomin' obvious that one or more roads around the UK, even THE WORLD, will be considerably worse.

It's not a competition though!

Roads across the province are in very poor shape.
I've seen gritters in Belfast and on the motorways, but none where I live, and the start of the roads here tend to back that up

There are un-verified reports here of gritters going out and NOT gritting, just so as their tachos show they have been.

Doesn't surprise me, I'm pretty sure they were doing that here last winter.

Whats the point in that?

On another point
How come gritters can drive in the most awful conditions.
I saw one once going down a really steep hill and the road was pretty slippery

FFS..... Im tired of people who live out in the sticks whos rush hour is the local farmer in his tractor on his way to a field and the paper boy doing his rounds, comparing a relatively unused road to a major road within a very built up area!

A bloody taxi overtook me on this road saturday night as I went through an amber light (too late to stop safely) so he set the camera off and now I dont know if ill get done aswell
