Recovery can't be taking place as early as by this time next week 
Christmas is on Satuday. Sunday, the Boxing Day will also allow drinkers to continue, just to take the edge off it. Oh aye, great excuse, another day to get bladdered along with turkey butties. Then comes Monday and Tuesday as Bank Holidays. People will start getting a bit bored with all this family milarky, so they would wanna venture out a bit. Females would tuck their kids into the car to go around sales in retail parks, while males would take their car to Tesco jet wash, even when the car doesn't require it. They go to Checkpoint as well, just with the hope to bump into someone they know, so that they can say: "Olroite, moite!" and and a bit of a chinwag about "how is it running" etc. Then, when the evening falls, pubs will beckon, just so you can catch up with the rest of the world around you in a tranquil state of mind, again 
28th, 29th, 30th may by the days for some to zombie out their work, then comes the New Year Eve! Wow, another night to go legless! Its never ending until 2nd of Jan'2011, let's face it.
