Looks like chaos is just starting to break out in the online shopping world, nearly all couriers are suspending deliveries to Scotland and major backlogs in the North of England means that the depots in those areas are not accepting any parcels.
Royal Mail is going to get a sudden rush of parcels in to there network over the next 24 hours which I am sure they wont be able to cope with...
sorry folks christmas is cancelled!
If we end up getting even one or two more snow flakes

It's pathetic and the only funny thing is the government squirming after telling us it wouldn't be this way under their watch.
The country has ground to a halt not because of sevre weather, but because of successive governments and councils stikcing their heads in the sand and pretending this could never happen.

We've had no post all this week, which I find strange as they managed to get out at the weekend, and we've had no snow since then.

The country has ground to a halt not because of sevre weather, but because of successive governments and councils signing up to the lunatic global warming agenda and assuring us this could never happen.

Parcelforce have suspended all new parcel deliveries to Scotland (except part of Inverness) you can not even enter a new parcel on to the system as they are trying to clear the backlog .
HDNL suspended new parcels for Scotland, Hull, gatwick and a few others
2 to 3 day backlog with nearly every courier.

took a while for the news to filter through:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-11980827
How weather has affected online shopping for Scotland
* Tesco Direct has stopped taking orders. Grocery deliveries still available
* Sainsbury's has suspended deliveries
* Asda Direct not delivering large items and has stopped orders for in-store collection before Christmas
* Parcel Force has suspended deliveries
* Firebox cannot guarantee next-day delivery
* Boots has suspended next-day deliveries
* M&S not accepting home delivery orders
* Home Delivery Network deliveries "limited" or later than normal
* River Island unable to take new orders. Current orders taking seven-14 days to arrive
* Virgin and Laithwaites wine companies cannot guarantee deliveries before Christmas
* Courier Yodel battling to clear 14-day backlog
who could have predicted this????
sorrys jocks no christmas presents for you

the reason why they are probably having problems is the same as our very very small operation, most couriers HDNL/Parcelforce etc will not collect from us any parcels that have Scottish postcodes or for some postcodes in north of england. We currently have scottish parcels stacked everywhere because no one will collect them, i would imagine amazon are having the same problem.

Santa doesn't use Royal mail, he has a magic sledge pulled by Reindeer. One of which has a big shiny red nose.
I take comfort in knowing Santa will deliver all my presents on Christmas morning. I'll leave Cookies out with a glass of milk with some carrots for the Reindeer as a little thankyou.
