Default Arg - stuck in snow!

Well I say snow, I am just south of Croydon and whilst it is certainly snowing it shouldn't be causing this.

Two hours not moving, 40 miles to get home. Sigh.

Aaah mate which way you heading, I know a girl who has been heading home from Croydon to Redhill for the past 6+ hours now. If you are on the A23, you are doomed. m25 has 2 lanes shut and traffic is queuing from Purley up past the 25

Yes that would be it .... Croydon out towards the A22 and then Sussex but stuck on the A23 before it divides.

Oh mate, I hope it has sped up since I last heard from her. She spent at least 3 hours around Purley. Looking on Google traffic it still looks messy up at the 25, so if it's slow where you are, it will be all the way.

Thnk you. Taken a random left and satellite navigation is taking me a different way and am moving very, very slowly

The problem now is that wide tyres, lots of power through the front wheels only and country snowy lanes are not a good mix (focus ST). Still better than my old Supra!

Holy crap, if you feel sorry for yourself for getting stuck in traffic today check out the scenes around the dartford crossing or the A2 at Bean.....
I feel for anyone stuck out there so late.

Now deciding what to do .... My car will stay where it is but whether I should walk the 13 miles to my house and it doesn't look as though things are getting any better.

Personally I would say unless you have all the right clothing and footwear for it, don't do it.
Tough one getting stuck though. Gatwick airport closed all day,and forecast shows another big dump of snow on its way.

I'm at home now thankfully. A very happy wife and children

My Father had an idea that could only be madness: Go and get a train.

Thank goodness for the old diesel line between Edenbridge and Crowborough that was running a limited service.
