I am not sure it has to hurt - it didn't hit the house very hard!

Those telematics are screwed up (0.9 G at impact, doubt it) but I'd say its not far off from 30mph. Which sideways on WILL hurt the next day. Neck brace or not

Ceratinly better than the houses we build; Some woman in her automatic Focus (who for some unknown reason reverses her car into the garage) somehow floored it in Drive, went out the garage, across the road, across a garden and embedded the in the front living room of the house opposite - going through the gable wall in the process! :cukcoo:

I'm not sure how fast a Focus automatic can accelerate in the space of 100yards, but the damage it did was impressive.

Don't see the difference how far up the stage it was.

He was obviously caught out, but did the co-driver tell him about the bend coming up I wonder?

I think he didn't realise how slippery it was until he had to brake hard from a high speed.

In rally crash terms thats nothing really, the only thing thats going to hurt is his bank balance to get it repaired.

I don`t think Colin McRae would have even classed that as a crash, to him it would have been little more than clipping something that got in the way.

well the fact he didn't even make it more than a few hundred yards speaks volumes to me mate don't you think?
If it was me writing the cheques for that team id be considering my options with that driver tbho.

Trout, what planet are you on? That was hard! In a normal every day car without a helmet, etc you'd be doing well not to walk away with serious injuries (or be dead*).

* Mainly because the car hit side on and the brain cannot take much trauma in that direction as it causes tears in the hemispheres.

If you think about it, as said above that bit of road was very slippery and he failed to realise it for one reason or another and paid the price.

That could have happened anywhere on the stage-it just happened to be early on and has no significance because it was.

Could just as easily have happened to you if you had not realised the state of the road just there, or are you such a superior driver that you cannot possibly make a mistake. Even McRae used to pile his cars up, he was always happy when he had a good crash!

Never heard of a recky then?surely you can't be serious about him not realising is a good excuse for his crash so early on when it's pretty obvious that the road was slick on the video so im at a loss to your way of thinking quite frankly
And my driving has nothing to do with anything i have said so why bring it up like im claiming to be some superior driver?

You are talking as though you consider you are just that.

And how would you know whether the weather and road conditions on the rally were the same as on the Recce?

You are scratching for an excuse to run him down.
