It's belting down with snow here and we haven't even got the heating on. Doesn't feel all that cold. Either that or we're not wimps.

I assumed you were the type of person who normally kept their socks on?

Heating on through the night?? Madness.
I can think of a few great ways of keeping warm in bed, none of which include leaving the heating on, or wearing socks on my feet OR hands

We normally (in the winter) have the heating set to come on about an hour before he gets up, purely for his benefit. I almost always get too hot during the night to cope with having the heating for all of it.
It would have to be absolutely freezing for me to even think about wearing socks. I'm not even wearing any now and I'm sitting up watching TV.

I think it's all up here.

Don't live in Scotland. Close to you guys, but not quite.
Where I do live, I've lived all my life. Can't remember ever de-icing the bin though. And it doesn't feel cold.

I grew up in a house with no central heating and no double glazing.
