Default Skin tags.........

..........what do you do with them?

My eldest just cuts them off with a pair of nail clippers, , but then, he IS hard.

How else can I get rid? Got two under my right arm and they bother me when I wear certain T-shirts.

Cut them off (as already mentioned) or tie them with dental floss tight and they apparently die off after 3 or 4 days.

Not tried the later of the two options, usually just go with the nail scissors and toilet roll for 4 hours to stop the bleeding !!

Big ones, i'd recommend tying off, small ones either pull / pick off or a quick snip with clean scissors.

My dad had one on the edge of his eyelid and had to go and get it cut off, he said the the doctor goes, do you want 'normal man' or 'John Wayne'. Dad picked John Wayne and they just pulled his lid out gently and snipped it off then stemmed the bleeding. Apparently 'normal man' was to use a small amount of topical numbing and then snip

I cut one off under my arm with the dental floss technique, but I was on exercise in Florida and my sweat made it pretty manky and painful for a few days!

I tied one off with cotton on my neck. Didn't feel a thing, or bleed.

Make sure whatever you snip it with is very clean, as is the skin, big opportunity for infection !

Well, they sound I bit yuck to be fair, but if they really are small then I'm sure the above antics won't be too much of an issue.

DIY surgery shouldn't be recommended though.

I used that 'Bazooka' stuff. Worked well.

Saying that, had one on my neck/shoulder up until Friday, it just fell off, it did bleed a tad but...

I use BAZOOKA!

It burns them off quite effectively ... do not use on the facial area, or the genitals or it will sting rather.

For those delicate areas use nail clippers and a hot poker to stop the bleeding ... sod the tissues and hours of bleeding!

I don't want to have BAZOOKA near my **** passage, it burns like hell ...... worse than having a ruby the night before!

And the thought of slipping with the nail clippers doesn't warrant thinking about

i had quite a few on the side of my neck, the local doctors surgery chopped them off whilst i has having a mole off. I have tied one off before, but found it painful, i would use sterilised surgical scissors and some numbing cream if i get any more.

(btw a skin tag is basically a tiny tumor on the surface of the skin, the skin cells go a bit haywire and produce a collection of skin, obviously including a blood supply, some people are more prone than others, and they tend to grow in areas where rubbing occurs, like collar line, or armpit area. )

Thumbs down

Would you trust the advice of someone who doesn't know the difference between effect and affect, and who can't use a spellchecker (resport)?

I think the poor person who has to deal with that one deserves a medal for service beyond the call of duty!

I am lucky enough to never have even seen one of those. I would have thought that like moles you might need to be a bit careful how you deal with them in case you start something worse up. I would get my doctor to earn his salary over that kind of thing.

Liquid Nitrogen spray works a treat, available at most Doctors.

Dental floss or nail clippers is so 20th century
