Can any iPhone4 users confirm ?
Seems a bit hard to believe to me, but a mate on FB just mentioned it and sais it works on his.
A hole in the iPhone's software allows any user to bypass the security code on the gadget allowing unauthorised use of the holy handset.
Orginally exposed by a bloke on MacRumours' forum who had apparently been fiddling about with his jailbroken phone, the simple hack has been shown to work on any iPhone jailbroken or not.
So if you have your iPhone handy try this:
Lock it with your usual security code, then tap the screen on the 'make an emergency call' button. Enter ### and "call" then immediately hit 'lock'. You should then have access to a number of the phone's features, including the call history address book and the photo app. There may be more.
Here's a Vimeo video of the hack posted by a user in Brazil.

As for bluetooth and Flash...... ITS THE DEVIL !
Serious though, I hope they get that sorted. Some people saying its no big deal, but say that when someone cains your phonebill

It's quite a hefty hole, quite surprising as one of the methods used to activate the first iPhone was very similar.
I hope this speeds the release of 4.2.
The good news is that nothing has been found on Android yet, getting all those different phone's updated will be a task.

Snazy, I have an IP4 with latest software.
It only allows phone calls, voicemail, and viewing of phone book, nothing else.
Missus has tried it on 3GS and she says it changes the language

My 3GS does it. I can feel a few choice demo's coming on, alerting people, you know.
If you're super paranoid.
Sync your contacts then delete
Export them to to a text file, print as .PDF
Dial the numbers from iBooks.
Sync then delete your pictures.
I'll just keep an eye on mine.

Making phone calls and viewing pics is enough of a worry for me lol
Cheers for letting me know what it allows access to.
Is the wifes 3GS running OS4 ?

If someone had the chance to use this 'hack' it would mean my phone was lost or stolen. So someone getting my contact out of there would be my last problem.
Especially as it's 'backed up'. I would me more worried about replacing my phone.

Interesting how everyone gets a slightly different result. I wonder what is causing all the variations.

It does seem to be iOS 4, specific. Can't get my hands on the 4.0.2 device to see if it happens there, but can confirm I have done it on a 3GS and a 4
I don't have any devices running 4.2 yet, think the debs might, will check with them tomorrow
Have to admit it is a rather large exploit, though I am sure apple will plug it soon. Has gizmodo one on a rampage about it yet?
