How many bricks can be laid in a day
I am having a conservatory drawf wall build at the moment and one side is going to be a full height wall.
Most builders are saying 2/3 days but a good friend is saying he can do it in a day if he has a helper.
The drawf wall is going to be 8 courses high and the full wall is going be 27 courses 2 m high and 3 m wide.
In total about 600 bricks and 100 blocks.
Someone has told me you can't built a wall that high in a day because its need to set.
Who is right.
Thanks for the help

Brickies vary loads in how many they can set in a day.
It's usually dense concrete blocks that run into a height limit; about four or five courses of block and they start squeezing the mortar out before it has set.

If they use the YHM (Yosser Hughes Method) then they could get the thing built very quickly indeed, especially for cash, but it might not be of the best quality.

Pay on price and not on day work and you can get more done but two days max providing the footings aren't built on the squizz and it's a clear run.

If it's a cavilty wall don't forget to put all the wiring in place before it's finished. Power cable for sockets, phone line/s, TV etc. dl

I would say that it is technically possible to do all of this in a day with a good brickie and labourer. However if you allow 2 you wont go far wrong. A lot will depend on the quality of the footing. To be honest I would expect most brickies to do that job on a price rather than day rate.
Brickies on site are about £380/£400 per thousand bricks plus muck. So it would be cheaper to do daywork if you could organise but you have to factor in labourer and sundries/muck.
