Default Concorde on the Thames

Just reading the Heathrow Skyport and there are plans to move the BA SSC onto an observation platform alongside the London eye.

Usually parked on the airfield opposite the Virgin hanger they've moved it to BA engineering on the A30 due to construction work.

I think it is a great idea to get this down town and on the Thames

Wouldn't be the first SSC on the thames either

What a good idea. It will take a fair bit of maintainance to keep it looking smart though.

Bull****. I was walking around her 5 weeks ago and she is falling to bits, and needs some real TLC. She's also full of boxes of promotional leaflets to keep her weighed down as they're worried she'll blow away in strong winds.

The one given to Barbados is looking mighty fine ... They really have embraced her.

Although her wing / fuel tanks are full of concrete blocks :-(

Yes i certainly hope so.

XM 607, the Vulcan which took out the runway in the Falklands War was getting very ratty looking at Waddington with holes in the fuselage etc. but it was refurbished and on display on the airfield perimeter now looking very smart.

The Concorde at the Brooklands Air Museum has been very well put back together, looks like new and you can look inside it too. Worth seeing.

Its a shame they have let G-BOAD rust away, but they did not like Concorde anyway of course.
