Great new twist on an old idea
http://www.iconeye.com/index.php?vie...emid=18&ref=nf
Just how smart is this?
A simple plug... and a completely new idea. I really like the 3 plugs into one idea.

Nothing new,
I use master plugs mains system by masterpiece, to hook up my hifi stuff
each plug is no bigger than an AAA battery in length and about 5 mm thicker
They also did a normal mains plug that you could plug 3 or 4 mini plugs into
with no loss of space

I saw that and the young inventor on TV a while ago and thought it was quite a good idea but so what.........but with the adaptor and stacking them all together that is genius. More good stuff to come from this fella I'm sure. Wish I was clever.

So where does the fuse go? The one thing our plugs have over the likes of US/EUR where they are smaller, is that our are fused which adds a bit of safety.
Edit: neat idea though..

Quite an old story from El Reg, see...
Designer pitches flat-pack power plug (June 2009)
and
Flat-pack plug designer wins top award (March 2010)
...including lots of interesting comments.
As far as i am concerned - moving parts make it a risky device

Ok Pics of the system i have / used
I couldnt find any piccys of the plug sized adaptor they cam out with.
(it held four micro plugs in a normal sized plug)
The only company i can find listed is:-
http://www.masterplug.com/
not sure if they still make these any more, which is a shame

Somewhat (individually) fuse-less though IIRC

I tripped across this when looking for a low profile plug for our fridge freezer;
The sparky put the socket in such a place that the protruding plug prevented the fridge pushing back flush to the wall (its a flat-backed fridge with no element).
Although it looked cool, I ended up swapping teh socket for a switched spur outlet and chopping off the plug (and being a vain tart, I ordered it in brushed steel, even though it will never be seen ).
