Default Wasps

So where do all the wasps go when the weather starts to turn cold? got a big nest outside my place (hidden inside an over hanging bulkhead), counted an average of 100 wasps a minute going in to it during hot spells.

I figured I'd just wait for the weather to turn colder rather than get the pest control out. Do they all just die or move elsewhere? I'll be waiting with my supersize can of spray foam when I feel brave enough

They all go on holiday to an ancient Greek island called Apocrita

I'd still spray wasp killer dust/moose in the nest entrance just to make sure they do not return next summer.. or to knobble the queen as she leaves

I used a can of foam wasp nest killer on a nest we had under our floor boards in August. I was able to get to them via the air brick out side. It did the job and after a couple of days the problem was over. Though this was a less spectacular job then my last one..

Wasps do not return to a nest the next year, so if you are willing to put up with them they will have moved on next summer.
